My love of photography cannot be contained to one genre. Nope. Not happening. Ever. There is no niche that I’d be happy photographing for the rest of my life. I’d feel stuck. Trapped. It gives me chills just thinking about it. And not in a good way.
I’ve shot photos of live music performances, weddings, golf outings, ice hockey games, soccer matches, basketball games, baseball teams, track and field events, football players, sports teams, individual players, business head shots, fashion shows, automotive shows, food, drinks, random products, landscapes, real estate, corporate events, and probably a few more categories I can’t remember.
I’ve created photos using professional cameras, drones, and smart phones. The best camera? The one that I have with me at the moment I need to create a photo; beggars can’t be choosers. And these days, tech is so good that it’s hard to tell the difference between a smart phone photo and one created from a $10k camera setup, given the correct lighting and creative eye.
No matter what equipment I’m using or what scenario I’m shooting, I couldn’t imagine perfecting any single niche or genre. The idea of being the best at one thing doesn’t excite me. Shooting anything and everything allows me to learn from each experience and use that knowledge on my next project. So, from me, always expect to see photos of everything. I love a photography challenge and will continue to pursue all projects that pique my interest.
